Our church is poised to begin a life changing journey for all those willing to walk with us. On Feb. 19 we begin with the kickoff sermon. For 6 weeks we will embark on a multi-dimensional journey to allow God to draw closer to us and we to Him.

Nothing else can do more to transform your life and make you more like Jesus than to study and act upon God's Word. By the end of our 40 days, our goal is to help you . . .

     ★ Love the Word of God like you've never loved it before.
     ★ Learn the Word of God like you've never learned it before.
     ★ Live the Word of God like you've never lived it before.

When God speaks, your life will be transformed, but that can only happen by making the Bible the authority for your life, the compass you rely on for direction, the counsel you listen to for making wise decision. The Bible must always have the first and last word in your life.

Our hope is that the next 40 days will become the most important days of your life as you love God's Word, learn God's Word, and live God's Word.

The 40 Days in the Word at Holy Cross is powered by the alignment of 3 activities:

1. Individual Participation. You, the individual are at the heart of the campaign. If you have an email address, you can view a daily video devotional that challenges you to reflect on the themes of this journey and apply truth to your life. You will receive a manual which will give focused guidance to meditate on a Bible passage.

2. Group Participation. A powerful part of this campaign is encouraging people to experience true biblical community through small groups. A small group can be 2-4 people or 2-6 people ideally. Each group will get a DVD to watch one time during the week for 6 weeks. The Bible study taught on video is followed by a guided discussion time to dig deep and apply the truths of the study to your life.

3. Weekend Service Participation. Each Sunday morning during the campaign the Pastor will cement the themes through special sermons and music. Make a goal to attend during each Sunday during the 6 weeks.

Each week of the 6 week campaign we will address the following topics:

     1. Why should I build my life on the Bible?
     2. Can I trust the Bible and why?
     3. How do I see what God wants me to see?
     4. How do I know what it means?
     5. How do I hide God's Word in my heart?
     6. How do I know what to do about it?

This is an exciting and decisive time for the people of Holy Cross. We hope you will be willing to make the small sacrifice of time in love to Him who made the gi-normous sacrifice of His holy life for you.

How to be a Host... It's simple to be a host. And you will only serve as a host one time a week for 6 weeks at the time and day of your choosing. Here is the acronym that describes all that the host is responsible for:
     H - Have a heart for people.
     O - Open up your home.
     S - Serve a snack.
     T - Turn on the DVD.
